Coleen advises the districts engaged in the Talking about Local Contested and Current Subjects (TALCCS) project through resource development, professional learning experiences, and feedback to increase civic engagement in classrooms.

She believes in the power of civic engagement and that strategic, thoughtful, and reflective learning experiences support teachers in connecting their students to meaningful learning opportunities.

Coleen has joyfully facilitated professional learning experiences for over 5,000 school leaders and teachers throughout the country. She has also been the Executive Director of the Baltimore Urban Debate League which has taken debate and argumentation to thousands of young people in Baltimore city.

She holds a Doctorate of Education Leadership from The George Washington University.
