We are thrilled to welcome the newest member of our Board of Directors, Atiqua Hashem. With nearly 20 years of experience in corporate law, governance, complex business transactions, and comparative international law, Hashem promises to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Street Law.

“Atiqua’s expertise, especially her deep understanding of the interplay between law and international development, will greatly strengthen our programs,” said Street Law CEO Ashok Regmi. “We’re excited for the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas she’ll undoubtedly bring to the board.”

Hashem currently serves as the Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, a role in which she manages the organization’s overall legal affairs, providing strategic advice and counsel to the board and executive management team.

With a strong background in the non-profit sector, she has previously worked at CARE, an international humanitarian organization, and ChildFund International, demonstrating her longstanding dedication to humanitarian and development work.

Hashem’s philosophy aligns seamlessly with the mission of Street Law, Inc., as she underscores the importance of accessible legal knowledge for overall empowerment.

“Throughout my career, I have seen time and again that laws can be used equally as instruments of empowerment and of oppression,” she said. “I believe deeply in Street Law’s mission to make knowledge about law accessible so people are empowered to determine best how to advocate for and shape its impact on their lives.”

Hashem’s stellar academic credentials include bachelors’ degree in mathematics and economics from Bryn Mawr College and a law degree from the University of Florida’s Fredric Levin School of Law.
