Dear Friends of Street Law,

As we look towards 2023, I’m reminded constantly that our work of leveraging education for empowerment and justice is not an easy one, but who said transformational change is ever easy?

In a society where division still exists, where vulnerable people still remain marginalized, and where democratic culture is still being threatened, I find inspiration and solace in the story of Street Law.

Street Law’s story is a story of hope, a story of how impactful programs have the possibility to change the mindset skills and knowledge of an entire generation. It’s a story of what I see as a path to advancing equity and justice, unleashing civic agency, bridging divides, and fostering democratic culture in the United States and around the world.

This past year was an impactful year for us. In 2022, Street Law, Inc.:

  • Impacted 2 million lives across the globe.
  • Trained hundreds of young activists across the globe, from Kosovo to Jordan to Uzbekistan.
  • Launched a new rule of law curriculum in the United States.
  • Institutionalized new legal models like alternative dispute resolution in Pakistan.
  • Brought on new like-minded partners like the U.S. Department of Education and the Library of Congress.

However, an organization isn’t great simply because of its accomplishments, it’s great because of the people who make those accomplishments possible. In 2022 we were lucky to welcome both new staff members and new board members to further the mission of this organization and help Street Law reach new heights.

I truly thank all the partners, supporters, staff, and friends of Street Law who have been with us in 2022, and I look forward to continuing this journey with you all in 2023.

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Ashok Regmi
Street Law, Inc. CEO
