Verizons and Street Laws Legal Diversity Pipeline Program

Street Law’s Legal Diversity Pipeline Program taps the knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm of the legal community to teach young people from diverse communities about everyday practical law and legal careers.

Verizon began participating in the Pipeline Program in fall 2009, with legal department volunteers in Basking Ridge, NJ, and Arlington, VA, teaching lessons in local high school social studies classes. Since then, Verizon has expanded its commitment to sites across the country.

The program at New Rochelle (New York) High School marks Verizon’s 13th Street Law program site. Volunteers from Verizon’s law department recently hosted students at their Valhalla office to participate in workshops about the Fourth Amendment, contracts, advertising, and careers in the legal profession.
