More Information

Joy Dingle works on the following Street Law initiatives.

Legal Diversity Pipeline Program

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Joy heads up Street Law's efforts to tap the knowledge, talent, and experiences of lawyers and legal professionals to teach young people about law and legal careers. Specifically, she directs Street Law’s Legal Diversity Pipeline Programs, where she works closely with volunteers from law firms and corporate law departments.

Every day Joy is energized by the positive effect these programs have on the high school students they serve. She says, “They are deserving of high-quality educational opportunities and exposure to meaningful experiences. The energy and ideas they generate put the life into our curriculum. This inspires me to do the necessary work behind the scenes.”

Both a lawyer and a teacher by training (Roger Williams University School of Law and Ohio State University), Joy has spent her career in the nonprofit sector. She is inspired by knowing that everyday people, including youth, can create positive change for themselves and their communities—a core Street Law value.

Fun fact: Joy came to Street Law dancing (no really … she taught the staff how to salsa as part of her interview!). When she isn’t working or dancing, she is watching C-SPAN, doing yoga, hiking, or baking. She counts Thurgood Marshall, Carol Moseley Braun, and her parents among her heroes.
