Pronouns: she/her/hers

Jill Adams manages Street Law's Legal Life Skills and Police & Teens programs, focusing on building practical legal knowledge, critical day-to-day skills, and community relationships in underserved populations.

Before joining Street Law, Jill served as Deputy Director and Senior Fellow at Georgetown University’s Center for Juvenile Justice Reform. In this role she led the development and expansion of the Center’s Certificate Program trainings with a targeted focus on cross-systems reform and helping jurisdictions translate research into sustainable policy and practice change. Throughout her career Jill has worked closely with leaders across child-serving systems to incorporate holistic, trauma-informed, data-driven, and culturally responsive approaches to serving and improving outcomes for kids at risk of system involvement. Her prior experience also includes work with the New York City Administration for Children’s Services, New York Legal Assistance Group, and DC Superior Court.

Jill is deeply committed to the mission of empowering young people and building a foundation for them to succeed. Her own experience teaching legal rights and civic responsibilities to DC high school students while in law school shaped her career trajectory, and she feels grateful for the opportunity Street Law gives her to help foster decision-making, communication, and critical thinking skills, as well as work to improve equity, access, and outcomes for kids.

Jill holds an M.A. in Policy Management from Georgetown and a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, where she graduated cum laude and was actively involved in the Criminal Justice Clinic and Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. She earned her B.A. in Criminal Justice and Sociology magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Delaware.

When she’s not working, Jill enjoys yoga, live music, traveling, discovering new restaurants, and chasing after her three young children and puggle.
