Save Our Streets

Appropriate for grades 8-12
The Save Our Streets curriculum was designed to teach practical law to 13-17 year olds charged with weapons offenses. It can be used in after-school programs, alternative education programs, and juvenile justice programs and settings.
This 15-lesson curriculum uses highly interactive strategies to teach participants to:
- Understand the juvenile justice system
- Analyze public policy issues concerning weapons
- Demonstrate improved communication skills
- Resolve conflict verbally
- Make positive choices in response to conflict
- Solve problems in a socially acceptable manner
- Evaluate safety needs of the community with respect to weapons
